Team King Competition reached an early milestone this month as founder Caelan Serrano was featured in a paddock interview during the ChampCar Endurance Series 2025 National Championship at Virginia International Raceway. The interview, conducted by ChampCar media personality “Likable” Les, marks the first public media appearance for the newly formed grassroots motorsports organization as it prepares for its 2026 debut season.
Serrano was at VIR driving with Warriors in Motion, a North Carolina–based nonprofit that introduces veterans and first responders to competitive motorsports. During the conversation, he emphasized why being hands-on in the sport is essential before leading a racing program of his own.
“I wanted to get involved in every piece of the puzzle... It’d be wrong to build a team without knowing what I’m talking about or what my drivers will experience. I want the knowledge so I can coach the athletes I’ll be helping along the way.”
Serrano also highlighted Warriors in Motion’s reputation for resilience and adaptability, referencing their performance at a previous ChampCar Lifeline 24-hour event at VIR, where the team completed both a differential change and a full engine replacement mid-race—an example of the discipline and teamwork that veterans bring to endurance racing.
Looking ahead, Serrano confirmed his plan to remain active in ChampCar through the 2026 season as part of Team King Competition’s grassroots development path.
